Metal Inkorporated – Gallery 110, College of Fine Arts
Fifteen metalsmiths and fifteen printmakers from across the U.S. were invited to participate in “metal inkorporated”. In the metalsmith/printmaker pairs, each artist was asked to etch a 6″ x 12″, 18 gram sheet of copper and then trade plates. Artists then responded to the plate they received; many metalsmiths cut into and fabricated the plates into sculptural forms, often adding other materials, while the printmakers often used their new plate as a layer in a print or added to or reworked the plate before printing it.
